The Laboratory of Growth Regulators took part this year in the Badatel Summer School organized by the Faculty of Science of Palacký University Olomouc. The event offered secondary school students from across the Czech Republic a unique opportunity to explore the world of scientific research and gain hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.
During the specialized workshop, students learned about the importance of plant hormones and the modern methods used by scientists to study them. Practical demonstrations allowed them to experience the daily work of researchers at our workplace and to better understand how basic research contributes to the advancement of agriculture, biotechnology, and other scientific fields.

The Badatel Summer School provided students not only with new knowledge and practical experience but also with an opportunity to better navigate their future study and career choices. Direct interaction with scientists and the opportunity to try laboratory work help students gain a deeper understanding of the world of natural sciences and consider a future career in research.
The Badatel Summer School continues the tradition of the Jevíčko Summer School, which was held until 2016 and had long supported young people’s interest in natural sciences and scientific work. The sponsors of this year’s Badatel Summer School are ON Semiconductor Czech Republic, s. r. o., Thermo Fisher Scientific Brno, s.r.o., VWR International, s.r.o., and Merck. Their support enables students to gain valuable experience and engage with a modern scientific environment.
