From 15 to 17 September 2026, the 26th International Isoprenoid Conference took place at Novotného lávka in Prague. This traditional scientific meeting brings together researchers working on isoprenoids and other natural products. The Laboratory of Growth Regulators was represented by Prof. Miroslav Strnad, Miroslav Kvasnica, Ph.D., and Jana Oklešťková, Ph.D.
Miroslav Strnad, who also served as a member of both the Scientific (Programme) Committee and the Local Organizing Committee, gave a lecture entitled “Plant hormone brassinosteroid – an amazing world of biological and medicinal activities”. Miroslav Kvasnica presented “Structural determinants of brassinosteroid recognition by BRI1-family receptor kinases”, while Jana Oklešťková presented her research in a poster entitled “Comparative profiling of brassinosteroids in representative land plant lineages”.
All three contributions focused on brassinosteroids, plant steroid hormones that have long been a major research topic in our laboratory.
This year’s conference also marked a special anniversary. The history of the Isoprenoid Conference dates back to 1966, making the Prague meeting a celebration of 60 years of this scientific tradition.
