The Laboratory of Growth Regulators, under the auspices of the Institute of Experimental Botany (IEB), organized its traditional Young Researchers’ Retreat (YRM IEB 2026) this week, this time held in Hrubá Voda near Olomouc. The main aim of the event is to foster collaboration, share ideas, and strengthen connections between research groups across the Prague and Olomouc sites.
The program featured a number of excellent presentations from all participants. The three best presentations were awarded small prizes—congratulations to the winners: Pavel Krupař, Jan Martínek, and David Ušák.
Invited speakers offered insightful perspectives on work–life balance in talks by Lukáš Synek, Jakub Hajný, and Ondřej Novák. In the following session, participants gained a deeper understanding of what truly matters when preparing grant proposals and how to approach scientific career development, thanks to presentations by Eva Benková and Zuzana Hroncová.
Kombinace rychlosti a důvtipu byla otestována během orientační aktivity. Tým „Desoriented“ zvládl orientační kvíz v nejlepším čase – vítězi se stali Ondřej Kopecký a Peter Šály.
