The international scientific conference Post-transcriptional Gene Regulation in Plants (PGRP2026) took place in Málaga, Spain, from 5 to 7 October 2026. The conference focused on the latest advances in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in plants. The event brought together experts in plant molecular biology to discuss regulatory mechanisms affecting RNA processing, stability and translation, and their roles in plant growth and development.

Our department was represented by three researchers, who presented their latest findings through poster presentations:

  • Jakub Hajný: Non-coding regulation of auxin canalization

  • Ivona Kubalová: One receptor, multiple initiation sites: Structural alternatives and translational control of Arabidopsis CRE1

  • David Zalabák: Multilayered post-transcriptional control of cytokinin signaling in Arabidopsis

The presented research covered different levels of regulation of plant hormone pathways, particularly auxin and cytokinin signalling, and their connections to post-transcriptional regulatory mechanisms.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity to share our research findings with the international scientific community, discuss recent advances with experts from various fields of plant molecular biology, and gain inspiration for future research.
