Reserch interests

  • development of new (un)labelled hormones,
  • development of antibodies and new immunodiagnostic tools and kits,
  • isolation and identification of new natural substances with significant biological activities,
  • study of molecular, cellular and in vivo effects of natural substances,
  • phytohormone biosynsthesis, metabolism and signalling,
  • genes regulating the biosynthesis, metabolism and transduction of hormones, their cloning and regulation of their expression in cells and organisms.

Honours and awards

1989 – award of the Czechoslovak government for the development of immunomethod for the determination of the cytostatic agent methotrexate in erythrocytes

1998 – The Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Award from Phytochemical Society of Europe, in recognition of

work on the identification, analysis and biochemistry of aminopurine phytohormones

1999 – prize of the city of Olomouc for the development and research of anticancer drugs, honorary citizen of the city of Olomouc

2004 – prize of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic in the category of scientific workers
